Chatpata Jimmykand
Jimmykand or Suran or Elephant foot Yam did not feature regularly in my cooking earlier- no particular reason but just that I rarely cooked it. It may be due to a rather unpleasant memory of a scratchy throat after eating Suran or maybe the thought of cleaning the rather ugly looking tuber, I am not sure, but was not tempted much to add it to my veggie list. Some time back I learnt to make Jimmykand cutlets at a friend’s place and I loved them. Neither was it very messy to clean nor did it take much time to cook…
Soulfull 8 years!
The blog officially turned 8 this August! Still on a high after attending the first ever Indian Food bloggers meet, I almost forgot that it’s been 8 long years since the Food blogging bug first bit me! You feed what you need; Prewedding dinner+substantial+Something different+2 grandmothers and press Search! And then automatically you get the planned Menu: Veggie stuffed spinach parathas

The basic idea for Beetroot Kofta curry is from the magazine ‘Cooking and More’ by Tarla Dalal. I have adapted the recipe to suit our taste. As I said earlier in one of my posts Beetroot Cabbage curry, Beetroot is one of my favourite veggies and you will rarely find the absence of this vegetable in my fridge.I have slightly altered the masalas for the Beetroot koftas. The gravy/curry in the original recipe was a sweetish Makhani type of gravy.I completely changed the recipe to make a spicy Misal type of gravy. Beetroot lends a lovely pinkish-red hue to the…
