Simple comfort food recipes to nourish the Soul

{Food Event}#CraveNoMore with Saffola Masala Oats

This post has been looo…nnnng overdue. I have been busy travelling (more on that later :)). Also the blog is undergoing a makeover, which is taking longer than expected. I had actually intended to post this once the blog got it’s ‘ New Look’ 🙂 Last Month, Saffola Masala Oats, launched their Chefs Choice range in Italian & Chinese flavors at Hotel The Grand, Vasant Kunj Delhi. To celebrate the launch of these exquisite flavors, Saffola Masala Oats hosted top bloggers from across India for a fun-filled gastronomic experience with gourmet chefs – the ever smiling Kunal Kapur, the ever energetic Saransh Goila and the very elegant Shipra Khanna.

I received this lovely invite for the event (thanks to Archana)! The invitation came in a vibrant yellow box along with select vegetables, a cute bag of Oats and 2 cute bottles of Chinese & Italian spice mixes/herbs- good enough for me to get excited for the event. I was already looking forward to a day filled with food tales ,enticing healthy dishes and meeting some of my Food Blogger friends! 🙂

I travelled with Archana from Mumbai and both of us chatted non-stop from the time we met at the airport, till we reached the venue! I knew then, that the day could only get better from here! ..and it did! Met an exuberant bunch of food bloggers friends I ‘know’ online- some of whom I had met earlier and some I met for the very first time. As expected  uninterrupted banter followed as soon as we met, during the event and till we were ready to get back home!

During the meet, Chef Kunal Kapur announced a two-phase competition around #CraveNoMore with Saffola Masala Oats. The Phase I of #CraveNoMore that took off that day in Delhi included an exciting mystery box challenge wherein 40 food bloggers were presented with the task of identifying exotic Chinese & Italian food condiments. Out of these, 24 bloggers became a part of the exhilarating cook-off thereafter, creating quick recipes using Saffola Masala Oats Italian and Chinese variant as the key ingredient. The winners from this phase will go on to Phase 2 of the competition and will participate in a ‘food-truck’ challenge in Mumbai.

We belonged to the ‘cheerleading squad’ and we carried out our job responsibility with utmost sincerity. We were the noisiest bunch and we cheered on the participants, nibbling away their ingredients, especially the gorgeous spread of cheese!

Chef Shipra Khanna and Chef Saransh Goila created an interesting snacking recipe each through their master class with the bloggers. While Chef Shipra chose Italian Saffola Masala Oats and came up with the delicious Cottage cheese oats with yogurt and Apple salad recipe, Chef Saransh Goila picked the Chinese variant and prepared Saffola Masala Oats Chinese Wraps.

We tasted both the Chinese as well as Italian flavour along with a few other appetizers. The Chinese Flavor has a spicy tangy taste with a mix of corn, French beans and capsicum, while the Italian flavour is a delectable mix of green capsicum, spicy red chilli flakes, oregano and a dash of pepper and a cheesy taste. I particularly liked the Italian flavour, for its texture as well as flavour.

‘These new flavours have been introduced to make snacking guilt-free and tasty . The Saffoala Masala Oats, Chefs Choice range in Chinese and Italian is not only loaded with the health of whole grain Oats and vegetables but is also bursting with delicious international flavours, making it  an ideal healthy snacking options for adults as well as children #CraveNoMore!’

Thank You Madhuli for this lovely update! I do not live in Nashik but will be visiting my parents in July. I would live to take one of your classes on healthy snacking if they are available at that time.
    Thanks! Best, Rashmi (Tulapurkar)

About

My experiments with cooking go way back, when I stayed in a hostel for my higher studies. The ‘Mess’ (literally) food was good just to satisfy the stomach, not the palate. I really missed my mom’s food then. I still do. A self confessed foodie, I love trying out new recipes. ...
